Dayara Bugyal & Surya Top

Nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, the Dayara Bugyal – Syari Bugyal – Surya Top trek is a spectacular journey across some of the finest alpine meadows in India. Known locally as bugyals, these vast high-altitude grasslands unfold like green carpets in summer and transform into pristine white expanses in winter, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

This trek is a perfect blend of scenic beauty, gradual altitude gain, and wilderness camping, making it ideal for trekkers seeking both exploration and acclimatization experience. The trail passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests, open meadows, high ridgelines, and remote camping sites, culminating at Surya Top (also known as Syari Top)—a stunning summit viewpoint that rewards trekkers with breathtaking sunrise and sunset views over the Gangotri range.

Unlike crowded trails, this route remains peaceful and relatively untouched, offering an immersive mountain experience. The trek also provides excellent opportunities to understand high-altitude trekking techniques, endurance building, and mountain discipline, making it suitable for both seasoned trekkers and motivated beginners with good fitness.
