‘Naag Sour (Glaciated 4350m) Lake’ (A Group of Frozen Mountain Tarns) is one of the few unexplored, less known & most spectacular and impressive treks of the Kullu valley. This is a very scenic, summer high altitude trek. Starting from the Prini/Shuru road head, the trek winds through lush green valleys, high-altitude meadows and dazzling landscapes. To keep you company, are the peaks of the region –Muker-bay, Shiker- bay, Ladakhi, Friendship, Indrasan, Inderkilla and Hanuman Tibba. For the shutterbugs, the trek provides an ideal opportunity to go berserk.
The view of the entire Kullu valley that is glimpsed all along the trail is excellent. Once atop the ‘Naag Sour (Glaciated) Lake’ (4350m), another few minutes ascent to the high and vantage point i.e. of 4500m. from where 360 Degree spectaculars panorama of peaks appears, but this time in the stark upper valley. You also see some good waterfalls and a number of lakes (Mountain tarn) on this trek also known as paradise on earth.
‘Naag Sour (Glaciated) Lake (4350m)’ Trek will start from base camp Shuru, which lies to the north of Rohtang Pass. You will trek to Hamta Hills, Hamta village and Setan Village where you can get the views of Dhauladhar range - Hanuman Tibba, Barabhangal and distant Kaliyani Pass. The villages are inhabited by locals of Kullu Valley and are untouched by tourists. You will visit the verdant Sterling forest that has Cedar, Magnolia, Oak and Pine trees. Get your legs ready to trek in the snow field above Kharimindiyari and Rourikhori.
